Important general techniques to refine your results for precision:<\/h2>\n\n

Use \"field searching\" by Title or Abstract to refine results<\/li>\n\t
Truncat* = star at the end of a word looks for variants<\/li>\n\t
\"double quotes\" = phrase searching for more precision<\/li>\n\t
AND, OR, NOT = Boolean searching\n\t
\n\t\t
AND = more precise results, fewer<\/li>\n\t\t
OR = used to connect synonyms, like terms; broader results<\/li>\n\t\t
NOT = subtracts terms from results (be careful on this one!)<\/li>\n\t<\/ul>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

These search strategies are interchangeable between Omni, ProQuest - really any of our databases.<\/li>\n\t
When using Omni you must<\/strong> type the AND OR NOT<\/strong> operators in ALL CAPS or the search won't work<\/li>\n\t
All the other research databases are case insensitive when using boolean operators<\/li>\n\t
These searches are suggestions only, so experiment with using different terms<\/li>\n\t
