Blatant verbal, non-verbal, or environmental attacks intended to convey discriminatory and biased sentiments. They might not always be physically violent, but they create a situation that feels like it might precipitate physical violence. While their behaviour is overt, a person may openly deny their prejudice (e.g. \"it was just a joke\"). <\/span><\/p>\n\n

A woman wearing a hijab is walking outside when someone passing by in a car rolls down the window and yells Islamophobic slurs at her<\/span><\/li>\n\t

An able-bodied person grabs a person in a wheelchair and moves them without their consent<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
