What is ODESI? <\/h2>\n\n
ODESI is the Laurier Library's data portal for Statistics Canada and public opinion polling microdata. All data is curated by a team of librarians from across Ontario.<\/p>\n\n

What kind of data is in ODESI?<\/h2>\n\n
ODESI houses our microdata holdings (e.g, public use microdata files, or \"PUMFs\"). Microdata files usually hold granular data where individual responses or facts are recorded as distinct variables, usually in tabular format. Microdata in ODESI is stored in SPSS, Stata, and SAS formats, and sometimes in .CSV<\/p>\n\n

Who should use ODESI data?<\/h2>\n\n

Once you have found your dataset, you must down both it and its documentation (e.g, user guide, data dictonaries, questionnaires, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

Microdata can be downloaded in SPSS, Stata, and SAS formats. Sometimes, some datasets are availale in .CSV<\/li>\n\t
Stata users should choose \"Stata v.8\", which is compatible with all versions of Stata<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
