Educational Content Creation Opportunities with H5P

Brief Introduction

By Joanne Oud and Yasin Dahi.

This presentation is prepared for the eLearning in Libraries Symposium. December 4, 2019 at Ryerson University.

H5P is a free, open source tool that allows easy creation and sharing of interactive HTML5 instructional content. The Wilfrid Laurier University Library has implemented H5P locally and started to use H5P content on its web site and in the learning management system. In this session, learn more about what H5P is and what you can use it for, see some library examples, then get a start on creating your own H5P content. Find out what is involved in implementing H5P, what questions and issues need to be addressed, and what the possibilities are for sharing and reusing H5P content to create both local instructional content and open educational resources.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Learn what H5P is and what you can use it for
  2. Start creating H5P content
  3. Understand the process and decisions involved in implementing H5P at your library
